An Introduction to our Musical Director
Hi there!
My name is Chloe, and I'm the founder and Musical Director of Elysium Philharmonia. I graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2021, where I realised that my passion for music extended beyond just performing. During my studies, I founded a student orchestra, and it was through bringing musicians together and creating concerts that I discovered my love for conducting and sharing orchestral music with others.
In addition to conducting, I've enjoyed a variety of experiences as a percussionist in orchestras and pit ensembles, which has given me a deeper appreciation for the different ways musicians collaborate to bring music to life.
Elysium Philharmonia has been a dream of mine for the past five years, and I'm incredibly proud (and unbelievably excited!) to be bringing this vision to fruition. I believe orchestral music has something to offer everyone, whether through the majesty of a symphonic masterpiece or the nostalgia of a beloved film score. Classical music doesn’t need to be exclusive or intimidating, and we aim to help dismantle the barriers that can make it feel that way. Ultimately, we want everyone to feel welcome, whether they are lifelong listeners or experiencing orchestral music for the very first time.
My vision for Elysium Philharmonia is to create an orchestra that celebrates diversity, welcomes audiences from all walks of life, and uses the power of music to give back to our communities through charitable events and partnerships.
For me, Elysium is about much more than just putting on concerts. It’s about uniting people through a shared love of music and creating something that can have a lasting, positive impact.
